This workshop will introduce the basic setup, functionality, and operation of Isadora, in a way that makes getting started with interactive digital art easy for artists from different disciplines.
We will look at a number of simple use cases and explore the possibility of mixing each together to create a more complex piece.
Using IzzyMap, Isadora’s projection mapping tool, we will “wrap” 2D imagery around bodies and objects in 3D space, and we will make those mappings respond to real-time input. (video mapping)
Using a live video input we will allow the artwork to be controlled by a dancers movements. (motion tracking)
Adding live audio input we will control real-time generative video/FX. (VJing)We will also discuss the core considerations one must make while preparing media for use in multimedia projects.
This is a fast moving, hands-on class suitable to all artists familiar with using either a Mac or PC.
It introduces the fundamentals of digital multimedia art and the use of the Isadora media control software.
